Pet Surgery

Here at Seneca Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer the best veterinary care possible. Our hospital performs many common surgeries, such as spay and neuter procedures, growth removals, wound repairs, and oral surgery.

Nothing is more important to us than your pet’s safety, so we perform pre-anesthetic testing to screen patients carefully and tailor our anesthetic protocol for your pet. Our trained staff and doctors monitor your pet before, during, and after anesthesia to help ensure the best possible outcome. Safety, efficacy, and comfort are always foremost in the minds of our dedicated healthcare professionals.

For each patient, we create a specialized anesthetic protocol. In addition to carefully choosing the sedatives used to induce anesthesia, painkillers, antibiotics, and fluid therapy are also parts of this individualized strategy.

We intend to make everything go well and remove any anxiety or tension associated with having surgery.

Surgery Process

Never give your pet food or water after midnight the night before surgery. Give no medications the morning of unless otherwise directed by our staff. Drop-off is between 7:30 & 8:30 in the morning. After you check in with our receptionist, you will be brought back with one of our technicians to go over any questions or concerns you may have. Any time a pet goes under anesthesia, it will have an IV catheter and fluids. We have upgraded our surgical procedure with equipment to monitor heart rate and rhythm, respiratory rate and oxygen level, and pulse.

If you have any questions at all about our surgery process, feel free to give us a call at (502) 458-1161.
