Dr. Michelle Shumaker

Dr. Michelle Shumaker

Veterinarian

Dr. Shumaker graduated from Oregon State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 2013. Prior to her veterinary career, this Louisville native attended Mercy Academy and obtained her undergraduate degree from Georgetown College and her Master’s degree in Psychology from Xavier University. She has a special interest in preventative medicine and dentistry. In her spare time, Dr. Shumaker spends time with her husband, three young children, and three cats. Her hobbies include watching movies, going to the theater, painting, and enjoying Louisville’s numerous restaurants and breweries. Dr. Shumaker and her family reside in the Highlands and are so proud to be your friendly neighborhood veterinarian. She looks forward to serving the Seneca community and getting to know you and your four-legged friends.

Dr. Schuchard

Dr. Sabrina Schuchard

Veterinarian

Dr. Schuchard is from Granger and studied Veterinary Medicine at Ross University. We are so excited to have her as a member of our team, and she looks forward to meeting our amazing clients and their best friends! Dr. Schuchard found her life’s passion for helping the animals of her community and is especially passionate about the area of ophthalmology. When she isn’t making miracles happen at the clinic, you can find Dr. Schuchard spending time with her Golden Retriever, Koda! Some of her hobbies outside of work include staying active in boxing, gaming, and enjoying crafts.

Dr. Rebekah Brinks

Veterinarian

Dr. Brinks is a Louisville local from Prospect. She graduated from Auburn Vet School in 2019 and began working at an animal hospital in Indiana. For the last few years at Seneca, she has especially enjoyed feline medicine and nutrition! She shares her home with her husband, two children, and two cats, Daphne and Weasley.

Sydney, RVT – Practice Manager
Sydney was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She has been a credentialed veterinary technician since 2012, graduating from a veterinary technician program in 2009. She worked for ten years at an emergency and exotic practice in Morgantown, WV. She enjoys her leadership role at Seneca and assisting in staff training and emergency/ critical care cases. She shares her home with her partner, Derek, two children, two Golden Retrievers, four cats, and two birds!

Taylor, RVT – Veterinary Technician
Taylor, one of our registered veterinary technicians, calls Palmyra, IN home. She has been with Seneca since May of 2021. While she’s been with Seneca, she has become Fear Free Certified. She has developed a love for behavior and is now pursuing her VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist) in behavior. This has taken her from the clinic full time, but when she is here, she is happy to help make vet visits as stress-free as possible! She shares her home with her husband, Cody; dog, Moe; 2 cats, Ernest and Ripley.

Brittany, LVT – Veterinary Technician
Brittany is originally from Whiteland, IN. She graduated from Harrison College Veterinary Technology program in 2017. She has been a credentialed vet tech and has worked in emergency medicine for several years. At Seneca, Brittany loves performing dental procedures and assisting in surgery! She is also Fear-Free certified. She shares her home with her wife, Trish, and four dogs: Ollie, Skylar, Tilly, and Nora.

Kristen, Veterinary Assistant/Certified End of Life Doula

Kristen is passionate about ensuring pets’ comfort through all stages of their lives. As a lifelong animal lover and devoted Veterinary Assistant, Kristen has experienced firsthand the great need for professional and compassionate care when a family pet is reaching the end of life.

Kristen has received her Companion Animal End of Life Doula training through the University of Vermont, and we are honored to offer our community her specialized care.

The University of Vermont End of Life Services Course advances the skillset of animal care professionals extending to specific care through the final stages of your pet’s life. Kristen has dedicated her life to caring for animals and is devoted to ensuring that your pet has a comfortable, dignified final chapter.

Lauren, Veterinary Assistant
Lauren originates from Louisville and has worked in other animal hospitals around town. She enjoys client education and puppy/kitten visits! Lauren has become Fear Free Certified since starting at Seneca in August 2022. She shares a home with her orange cat, Buster.

Carley, Veterinary Assistant

Carley is a vet assistant who is eager to learn! She has a bachelor’s in psychology and has years of experience working on a horse farm! A fun fact: She competed for USA in New Zealand 2019 Mounted Games. She has two dogs and one cat!

Manny, Customer Service Representative & Veterinary Assistant in Training
Manny has been with Seneca since Spring of 2024. You will often find him answering your phone calls and greeting you with a smile on his face! He originates from Virginia and shares a home with his fiancé, Dakota, and two sons. He is excited to grow his veterinary medicine knowledge as Seneca!

Nikki, Customer Service Representative & Veterinary Assistant in Training

Nikki is from the Valley Station end of town and has been excited to be a part of Seneca since February 2023. She is a licensed aesthetician but has found veterinary medicine is her calling! Since Nikki started with Seneca, she has become a Hill’s Certified Nutrition Consultant and Fear Free Certified. She shares her home with her husband, Mark, her cat, Binky, and two beagles, Daisy and Mollie!

Ian, Customer Service Representative
Ian joined Seneca in March 2023. He enjoys speaking with clients. He is working on enrolling in a vet tech program, and we are excited to see what he learns! He shares his home with his wife, Elise, and two dogs, Mushu and Odin.
